Welcome to the Bluffton Flying Club!
Welcome to the Bluffton Sky Pirates. We are always looking for like minded people with which to share our aviation club.
We are based at the Bluffton, Ohio airport (5G7), located off of I-75, exit 142. For more information about the airport and FBO click here.
History
Founded in 1954, the Bluffton Sky Pirates is an established flying club, known around the area. We have members ranging from commercial to recent private pilots. The Sky Pirates welcome any pilot who wishes to enjoy the skies and promote general aviation.
Why Join?
There are many reasons for joining a flying club, with cost being just one of them. We have maintenance officers that keep track of aircraft maintenance, hold monthly meetings to discuss the club business (and do a lot of hangar flying), and hold other special events related to flying. Whether you are new to flying, a weekend pilot always searching for the ultimate "$100 hamburger", an occasional business traveler, or a seasoned veteran looking for a club, you may find what you are looking for in our club. Please fill out the "Contact Us" form, and one of our members will get back to you with more information on how to join.
Bluffton Sky Pirates Club Airplanes
The Sky Pirates are a diverse group group of pilots. We recognize that one kind of plane will not work for everybody. For this reason, we maintain planes that are different in their complexity and mission. One thing, however, that we all agree on is that they are safe. We have a maintenance officer assigned to each plane to keep track of the maintenance history and upcoming inspections to ensure they are maintained according to FAA regulations and prudent practices for safe flying.
